Product Updates - New Features

New Fax Vendor

In our ongoing effort to provide you with the best service possible, we have recently switched vendors for our Fax Service. With this switch comes a slight shift in our billing procedures. Now, instead of $.05 for thirty seconds of transmission, we will be charging $.07 per page, with possible additional charges for transmissions which exceed one minute in duration. We expect that this will have little impact on your total fax charges.

Staff Picks: Notepad

The Staff Pick this week comes from our Client Support Analyst, Sara Escamilla. She recommends using Notepad when pasting text into HTML fields, like for Broadcast Emails or Letter Templates. Word and Excel use rich text (with color, fonts, and spacing) which can sometimes confuse web browsers. Paste your text into Notepad first, then copy and paste again from Notepad to the HTML field. Doing this will remove any funky characters or strange formatting.

Article: How To Hire A Consultant

Hiring campaign consultants can be tough on a candidate or manager. The wrong initial choices may send a campaign into a death spiral. Fortunately, there are some common-sense guidelines to help your campaign gain altitude.

Do you really need someone? This question often goes unasked. In the excitement and tension of starting a campaign, jobs are created, people hired, and tasks assigned based on assumptions, not planning. The old axiom, “If you want to be a candidate, find a manager. If you want to be a manager, find a candidate,” goes to the heart of campaign relationships and the importance of planning before acting. The very first thing to understand is that a candidate cannot be successful at both jobs.

Start at the top

From the smallest race to the largest, you will need help. Start at the top—the consultant or manager who will oversee all the aspects of your race. You don’t necessarily have to hire the best known or most expensive.
