One of the new features we added to BackOffice this week is a great example of the way we approach software development. This new tool gives you a warning when you make a data entry error on one of your financial transactions. Now, that might seem small, but little things like that can save you huge amounts time and frustration when it's time to run your reports.

We try to focus on tools that will make your day-to-day jobs easier and we believe this kind of attention to detail has helped to make our software the most popular in the industry among users. You can read about all the new features we've added this week in our Product Updates section below.

You’ll also find a Staff Pick for those in need of some down time, and a helpful article from our CampaignGuide about developing presentations.

Product Updates - New Features

1. New Warnings for Financial Transactions
Warnings will now appear when saving transactions in the following cases: If the transaction is associated with a previous election; if the donor is missing his or her occupation or employer information; if the reporting description field is missing for an in-kind contribution; if an address for the vendor or contributor is missing; or if transactions marked to support/oppose are not linked to a candidate or measure.

2. Custom Report Generator Now Supports 'Committee Type'
You may now run reports to target specific types of committees: party committees, PACs, candidate committees, and small contributor committees. From Custom Reports, choose Organization from the Table drop down, and then Committee Type from the Field drop down.

3. User Information Now Displays Permission Settings
If you are not an Administrator and need to know what your Permission Settings are, you may now view them in System > My Account.
