New Features
FEC Form 3X Supports Suppressing Name Titles

When generating the Form 3X, you may now opt to suppress name titles (Mr., Mrs. etc) for your itemized receipts and disbursements.

Hyperlinks Report Stays Put

The Hyperlinks Report will no longer jump back to the top of the page when you open records in a new window. Instead, it will keep your place on the report so that you can go from record to record a bit faster.

Memo Text Added to Expenses with Subvendors

New memo text will appear on your FEC Form 3, Schedule B, next to any vendor with associated subvendors: "Original vendors exceeding reporting threshold itemized as memo transactions". This is in line with the influx of letters committees are receiving from the FEC, which necessitate amendments simply to disclose that original vendors are not itemized because they're under the $200 threshold.

Accounts Can Now Be Made Inactive

If your committee has old accounts that you no longer use, you can now make them inactive. Go to Financial > Accounts, switch to Edit Mode, and then check the 'Inactive' boxes. This will keep new transactions from being associated with old accounts.

Combining Duplicates Displays Committee Information

When combining duplicate committees via Add/Search > Organization, the combine duplicates tool now displays the committee designation and committee identification number.

Check Printing Now Aggregates

We added a checkbox to the Check Printing area (via Standard Reports) that says "Group Checks". Checking this box will aggregate expenses with the same check number, date, and vendor.

Staff Picks

This week we decided to include multiple staff picks in our newsletter, instead of just the one that we normally send. All of these staff picks have met our criteria of a) useful, b) easy to use, and c) free. We’d love to hear what you think of the picks below, as well as the addition of more staff picks in our newsletter. – Better Voicemail / Email Integration

Instead of using the arcane voicemail service your phone provider offers, setup up a better one with YouMail. You can view, delete, listen to, and forward all your voicemail from a web page. It’s got some great features that your current voicemail doesn’t have, but should. For instance, you can record a custom greeting for specific callers, or have it automatically transcribe your voicemails and send you an email or text with the info. You can see who left you a message, like caller id combined with email. I even like their audio interface better than my own T-Mobile voicemail. One note - YouMail is a free service, but there may be a charge from your carrier (i.e. Sprint) for forwarding your voicemail. It’s definitely still worth looking into.

Dipity – Collaborative Timelines

Create timelines that can be viewed and/or edited by a group of people. Zoom in or out, add photos and descriptions or events, and more. Use this to help coordinate your life or your campaign.

Electoral Vote

Finally a semi-political based staff pick. Use this to see information about this Presidential election, including the number of delegates reported by different sources, a map of who is ahead in which states and districts, and by how much. The site is kept very current, and there is a lot of new information being added every day.
